The Boomerang Sailing Team is a regatta team that emerged a few years ago with the acquisition of our boat, a small Falcon 800, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year. Over the last 3 years we have been adapting this boat to compete, and we have been making our way to this day.

The competition has been tough for Boomerang, the material has been suffering every day, and despite making small repairs and improvements, we needed a push to face our goal of winning the Spanish Cup this year 2022.

In this way, together with the crew, we decided to start a sponsorship project to give visibility to companies in our environment that share our values of continuous improvement, respect for the environment and proximity.

Within this process we have been lucky enough to coincide with ECOENERGIA, a young, local company. What could be better for a sailboat than to collaborate with a renewable energy company? From the first moment, Pere liked the idea very much, and we launched our new image, two very large signs on the new sails that have helped us achieve.

Many boats opt for this image model, large signs on sails, trying to make their image linked to a clean and ecological means of transport, away from fossil fuels and pollutants. In our case, we were very clear that we did not want to follow this path, but when Pere explained what they were doing, it was clear to us.

Our debut with ECOENERGIA as a sponsor took place in the second regatta of the Ca'n Picafort winter league, a complicated day with strong winds, where we did not have the usual crew. Even so, the black sails made a presence in Bahia d'Alcúdia, where we obtained a 3rd position.

At the moment we are still competing in several leagues, which serve as training for our final goal, the Spanish Cup which will be held at the end of May in the port of Pollença. At the same time, we improved the material, incorporated a complete new set of sails, and adjusted all the boat's electronic systems to achieve better performance. None of this would have been possible without our collaborators and friends, mainly EcoEnergia.
