An energy audit, according to UNE-216501:2009, is defined as the systematic, independent and documented process for obtaining evidence and its objective evaluation in an organization with the aim of obtaining reliable knowledge of energy consumption and its cost, detect and evaluate the different opportunities for savings, improvement of efficiency and diversification of energy and its impact on energy and maintenance costs, as well as other associated benefits and costs. Therefore, solutions aimed at achieving a rational and more efficient use of available energy resources will be proposed.
